father

An installation made from daily walks over a year that originally included 23,024 rose stones. The number signifies the number of days of my father’s life and the rose-color-painted stones the literal meaning of my name given by him. ROSENSTEIN was scripted on as many stones as days of my life. The installation traveled to personally relevant cities around the country. Visitors were invited to participate by taking a stone to leave in nature, redistributing the stones back into the environment. More responses can be viewed here.

Stones, milk paint, walnut oil, gold ink. 2008-2011.
